If you want to know it was a treaty that stated the US is given what is now know as the US Southwest permanently. Also we assumed all the debt for these areas that Mexico incurred which most economists on either side of the Rio Grande will tell you was a huge burden for you fledgling nation. Also according to a Zogby poll 92% or Mexican Americans do not want the US Southwest to go back to mexico, mainly because they know what would happen.

La Raza is only concerned about "The Race!" They are ignorant to laws and don't give a crap about the US.

I am not la Raza, but I also know that te "Treaty" of Guadalupe Hidalgo was just another attempt of American Imperialism to expand its borders. There is no lie to that, they fought dirty. In spite of this, I don't want the South West to go back to Mexico. I recognize the facts from both sides: America is not always the good guy of the movie, but Mexico needs to get over their loss.

none of these people were affected by this action. it's like the american slaves...hardly any of the people demanding compensation were actually even affected. act in your present time for the current obstacles that confront you. you cannot bring up crap 100 years late when it suits your new cause. there is like a statute of limitations in life people. you can't just throw old history into this modern world and expect things to change because it's bothering you NOW

Most won't they just ignore the facts and forget that they LOST the war and will lose if they try something again. so its just one of the facts that they ignore of lie about to make their case.

Raza means "the people" it can't be understood by a literal translation. "lost in translation" is a saying that would fit this word. And yes people understand what the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was, a sham.
