I have come to US on September 5, on F1 Visa. My I-94 is missing, but the stamp put by the DHS and CBP r there on my passport; my details have been enterd into the systems at the port of entry at JFK and must thus be present in the systems there. Can I go back to the airport to the CBP, fill a new I-94, give them photocopy of my passport pages with stamp, I-20 of my university and a formal letter stating that I am a full time student and the date of completion of the degree, and wait for them to check out and give me a new I-94?? Will I get my new I-94 this way?? Please answer as soon as possible!!!

What do you mean by "my I-94 is missing"? A form cannot be in an active status. You should tell us the truth, namely "I have lost my I-94", and apply for a replacement through the USCIS. The application must be addressed to the office at Dallas, TX or Phoenix, AZ depending on your state of residence.

You cannot receive a replacement of your lost I-94 at JFK. The cbp.gov site says:

Q: How do I apply for a Replacement Nonimmigrant Arrival-Departure Record, CBP Form I-94 or I-95, if the original was lost, stolen or is mutilated?

A: If you are applying to replace a lost, stolen or mutilated Arrival-Departure Record (CBP Form I-94) or Crewman's Landing Permit (CBP Form I-95), you must file an Application for Replacement/Initial Nonimmigrant Arrival-Departure Record (Form I-102) with the USCIS.

If the CBP Form I-94 or I-95 was lost or stolen, submit a copy of the original CBP Form I-94 or I-95. If you do not have a copy of your original CBP Form I-94 or I-95, please submit a copy of the biographic/photo page from your passport and a copy of the passport page that was stamped by CBP officer when you entered the country. If you cannot submit any evidence of your legal admission to the United States, please submit a full explanation and proof of your identity.

If your Form I-94 has been lost, stolen, mutilated, or destroyed, you will need to contact U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) at 1-800-375-5283 and apply for a replacement Form I-94 by filing a Form I-102. You can download the Form I-102 from www.uscis.gov.

If you live near Canada, it might be cheaper to depart and return at which time you will receive a new

I-94.
