Well, I DON'T support amnesty.

Why?

Well, nothing gets accomplished with it. So we give the millions of illegal immigrants in this country amnesty, and they are allowed to legally live here. How do we support them down the road (the young immigrants do grow old, just like the rest of us)? And the bigger question; what are we going to do in 25 years, when this is back in the front due to the millions of illegal immigrants that have come into this country after the amnesty? Are we just going to keep offering amnesty? Hell, why just abolish all of the laws, and allow the US to become over populated, and then broke trying to aid in the support of the starving children in this country that will result? People do realize that there isn't an infinite number of jobs, do they? Only so many illegal immigrants, just like the legal American people and the legal immigrants, will get jobs. Eventually, the companies/individuals that hire these workers will have to say "I have enough employees - no openings". What then?

If someone can give me an answer to all of that, then maybe I would change my stance on illegal immigration. But everyone has to realize that no resource is infinite. Jobs, money, housing and space all run out. It might not happen right now, but it WILL happen. What will we do then as a nation? We can't turn a blind eye right now. That is how the small issues become catastrophic issues in the future. The signs are there that illegal immigration DOES hurt our country. People for amnesty just choose to turn a blind eye to that, instead insist upon saving everyone. Sponsor them - get them here LEGALLY if you want them here so damn bad. But don't feed me this sh!t about it "not being a problem". If things are so bad in their nation, maybe they should do something to fix the problems. Is it easy? No. But it wasn't easy for our forefathers to do what they did so this country is what it is today. There are more poor than there are the "bad guys". I am willing to bet if they rose up against the "powers that be" they might be suprised that they could do things to change their own nation. Will blood be spilled? Probably. Will some die? More than likely. But will things be better in the long run? Most definitely.

Well, just think about it a minute.

What is the alternative?

How do you think it is possible to round up, jail and deport over 11 million people? That is twice the population of Denmark and more people than many states have in population!

We can't even find the "FBI's 10 Most Wanted" or roundup and jail the drug lords and dealers in our cities and towns.

First, we must make our borders secure by hiring more well-trained border patrol agents (and get rid of those militiamen whackos with their camoflage and beer bellies). We must computerize ALL of our border crossings and increase passport and immigration security in those places.

Then, we MUST start arresting, imposing fines upon, closing and prosecuting those corporations in our country who HIRE undocumented workers. We must close the "bus-stops" where the employer drives along looking for people to hire off the street.

Once our borders are more secure, our passport and immigration security actually works, the corporations and companies stop hiring the illegals, then we can start on an amnesty program for those already here.

Ya know what, though? It ain't never gonna happen. Our government doesn't really give a good gosh-darn about it. They know that their good buddies in the corporate and agricultural world need this cheap labor force and they will do nothing to stop it. What you hear coming from their mouths are just words to make you and me feel like they care. That billion dollar "fence" they are building is only 7 miles long. NOTHING will stop the flow until there is no place here for them to work - and that won't happen as long as the employers get a wink and a nod from government.

I support amnesty for illegals that have been more than 10 years in US,haven't broke the law and payed taxes or are willing to pay back taxes. If they have worked for the past ten years and integrated in the community that shows real desire to be a good american.I don't see why not reward people like that with a green card instead of giving away 50 000+ green cards every year not knowing if that person will be on welfare for years

I don't think amnesty would be the best answer to this problem, but give a permit to stay here legaly to people that has worked and don't have a criminal record, and they speak english or at least proof that they are learning, and I think it would be fair to pay a for fine coming to America illegaly, that way we would contribute in a more positive way to the economy of this country.

NO CHANCE FOR DELINCUENTS, DRUG DEALERS, WORTHLESS GANGS, IT MAKE US MAD THAT THE AUTHORITIES ARE MORE STRICT WITH PEOPLE THAT IS HAVING A GOOD BEHAVIOR AND THEY ARE NOT THOUG THAT WITH THE ONES THAT COME HERE AND DONT WORRY ABOUT WORKING OR STUDYING BUT SPEND THEIR TIME COMITING CRIMES ON THE STREETS.

First off let me just say that some people should"nt answer a question on emotion alone. Think people, these people are in our country already! Would'nt it be better to:1 know who they are, 2 have them paying taxes, 3 make sure they are"nt a threat to us here. I think amnesty is a good ideal. They are draining our soc. sec, hospital, and school systems should"nt we get something for that. Because the reality of this is their not going away. Someone said there are over 40 million mexican here give or take. Do you really think we have the resources to kick them all out. No! So it's better to deal with the problem head on. If your not a criminal and you have a job and you can pay the fine you should be allowed to stay. We need that money to put back into our pockets. What other choice do we have, take away their licenses, yeah right that helps. Not, now we got people out on the roads without licenses or insurance. Way to go Perdue. Think what that's going to do to our insurance rates. Maybe we should just stop giving them medical treatment if they don't have the money. Not, now we got undocumented people out their carring diease that are most likely air born. Hello people do you think the germs are going to stop at your door and say OH! She legal lets pass them up. Thanks again Perdue. OH I have an ideal maybe we should continue to bust up in Wal-mart and other companies and send them back to Mexico seperating them from their children. Not!

Did no one see the march. If these people decided to turn on the U.S. it could be real bad for us since we really dont know the real number. If this was a war strategy they would have the ulpper hand because they are already behind enemy lines. So would'nt it be better to know their numbers and where abouts and have them paying taxes. Instead of tring to gage war with these people. Think about it. What about that mexican that built your building your living in maybe someone sent his father back to mexico and he's looking for alittle payback. I would'nt want to living in that building. Do you get my point people. Stop!Alto! Keep your friends close your enemies closer.

And maybe amnesty is not the right move but all the above sure as hell isnt the answer. Thanks for reading. God Bless

Amnesty makes no sense.

Companies hire illegals because they are cheap labor, they don't have to pay taxes on them (under the table), and there are no "minimum wage" and benefit issues to worry about.

If these illegals get amnesty, they will be legal. They will file their information legally and the companies will have to treat them like the legal workers they refuse to hire in the first place.

So the companies will fire these newly legal workers and hire a fresh batch of illegals.

The only way to curb illegal immigration is to fine the companies who hire them into bankruptcy. If there were no jobs for illegals here, THEY WOULD NOT COME.

amnesty not...

I am original from a Latin American country so I know better how that will be...When the news get there...

And it will give a bad message to another country's and will increase of illegal in migration here etc.

Smugglers increasing drug dealers etc you name it.

Is not a good message.

It should be done something in the foreign country for the people in migrate legally and then we will know who is here.

They will work legally and leave legally.

It will control crime in the borders and inside of the borders.

I say yes to a guest work permit... To those that can be eligible that are already working here and pay taxes.

it would cost too much to send them back:

we would lose their production while the work force changed, the new work force would be less motivated, require training, and require higher pay (because of increased demand),

then there is the cost of finding them and transporting them back (and what about the children who were born here?),

and losing motivated people who want to be here and want to have those jobs..

we are getting the best of their workforce to use in whatever way we want, why would we send them back? we should utilize them!

If they are working, let them stay. Its those who aren't working who are dangerous and detrimental.

I don't support these leeches. They cost our economy billions of dollars a year and stretch our social service resources to the point of snapping. all Illegals out now,
