iam applying for my alien relative (spouse) in ghana. i called this immigration line and a lady (processing specialist) picked and got my details, emailed to me forms i-130,g-325a, i-864 and immigration assistance service authorization form.
she also added checklist of documents to be sent to them. asked me to printout all the forms before she gives me directions, i did. Then all she made me do was to sign and date all the forms. Now i should send all the forms plus a check of 355 to their addrss, they will schedule on-phone interview date with me and fill out the rest of the forms through that interview. They are not taking anymore money till the entire processing is done and i pay the visa fee.
does anybody has an idea if am on the right track? is that not a scam? does the immigration really have a separate processing center for such purposes? their address and number : IGRATION FORMS PROCCESSING CENTER, 3495 LAKESIDE DR, #218, RENO, NEVADA; 1-877-774-2480.
Somebody with similar experience help me sort things out before making the wrong/right move because money is hard to come by lately. Was that the process you went through?
thanks to you all for reading

That is a SCAM.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) under the US Department of Homeland Security is the only authorized federal agency to process immigration papers (forms). All immigration fees are paid to the US Department of Homeland Security either by check or money order. Please go to the USCIS website and you'll get all the details for filing for your alien spouse.

This "business" is NOT a USCIS immigration office. They have an F rating from the BBB (linked below) - please hire a licensed immigration attorney if you need help. It's not a scam per se, but I sure wouldn't trust them to process everything correctly.

USCIS does have separate processing and service centers across the country, but the addresses will be on the forms you need to send in.

Only you can judge what help you need (if any) but I would highly recommend avoiding these people and finding a real immigration attorney as you don't want to potentially waste time and money and perhaps even jeopardize your case by using a substandard "immigration service."

No, I think it's more along the line of sharecroppers. After the Civil War the freed slaves that stayed in the South were taken advantage of by plantation owners. They knew the freed slaves were poor and desperately needed work and money. So they were hired as sharecroppers on these plantations. They would often live on or near the plantations/farms. They would then work on these farms which gave them shelter and very little money. The sharecroppers would borrow money from the plantation owners for the crop seed and for equipment. They would plant, tend, and pick all the crops on the plantation(just like the slaves) but at the end of the crop season they would have to pay back the plantation owners and keep what money they had left. However, during a bad crop season, the sharecroppers couldn't pay back the money and would be in debt to the plantation owner. This would be a continuous cycle as it was hard for the families to work off the debt and pay back the money from the current season. They would often fall into a hole of debt that was impossible to dig out of. The families couldn't leave until they paid all debts. They were manipulated by the plantation owner. So now he got free work that was technically legal as they were paid......they would just have to pay it back to the plantation owner to pay off some debt. I know i rambeled a bit, but back to the original point. The illegal immigrants are being manipulated by the people who hired them. It is cheap work, and the workers can work long hours for little pay. Now don't get me wrong, illegal immigrants steal jobs from Americans. My stepdad lost many job opportunities to illegal immigrants. But that still doesn't make it right. It is not slavery because they are being manipulated not forced to work. The slaves were forced to work.
