I have a multi-entry Schengen Visa valid for 1 year. Can I enter a Schengen country the day before it expires?

I am not clear if my expiration date is the last date I can enter a Schengen country and then have a month (3 months?) to stay there...or is my expiration date the date by which I must LEAVE altogether?

The expiry date is the date on which you must leave the Schengen zone.

Apply for a new visa which starts on the next day after the expiry date of your current visa prior to travel.

1. There are a list of countries from which its citizens can visit the Schengen area without a visa, that program it's called the visa free waiver program and it covers them for a period of three months.



2. If you have a multi-entry visa valid for a year, you do not have an automatic three month visa free waiver after its expiration.



3. You can enter Schengen up until the last day of your expiration on your visa, but beware... the officers at the check point might get picky and even deny you entry if you enter Schengen with a few days left in your visa.

No it does not work like that. When your Schengen VISA. expires you have to leave the Schengen VISA area or country before it expires.



So you can enter and leave a Schengen country as many times as you like with in the one year period. But you must not be in a Schengen VISA country when the VISA has expired. Otherwise you become illegal in that country.
