I have two questions, please answer them nicely =]]]]

1. How is the dream act going on as of right now? i know this website that says there are 52 votes for it, and 8 more to go to pass it, but it's been like that for months now, and I'm wondering if that site's not updating. So please tell me the votes, the probably outcome or the trend of the atmosphere that blows through the senate's debates.

2. My cousin is an illegal immigrant and he's in his senior year now, class of 2010. He came here on traveling visa but expired. It's been 7 years now. Is there anyway he can appeal with good gpa and community service to the college, or are there any universities that announced the acceptance of such students? And, is it possible to join any of the US military branch ?

I dont need rude feedbacks. please answer them nicely. Simply because you're an American doesn't mean others don't suffer in this country; i mean even americans suffer in america nowadays.

All universities would accept him into their campus if he has a high GPA. Depending on the state, he may have to pay the out-of-state tuition, which would be about two to three times more then regular tuition. Some programs offer scholarships for undocumented students, so he may get some help there. However, I know for a fact California does not allow schools to charge the out-of-state tuition, just the regular fee. If he is illegal, he can still join ANY armed forces, strangely enough. They may kick him out though, but it normally only occurs if his commanding office is suspicious/does not like the soldier. The US is pretty desperate for new recruits.

Well said Jaz! People here do not understand that a lot of the illegal immigrants in this country come here to better their lives. They do not have a choice the system is screwed up, people have to wait at least thirteen years to get residency. Or they can get married which isn't very easy because it's a very long process. People need to understand that these illegal immigrants are people also they are not savages!! They come here and do all of the jobs that most Americans do not want to do. I do not understand where all the hate comes from; they're human beings! As to the Dream Act it was denied in October of 2007 but hopefully it will be revived in 2009 or the next president will fix the system. I believe that the Dream Act was a great bill because not anyone could qualify; there were a lot of requirements. People that met the requirements would get TEMPORARY residency for 5 to 6 years and then they could apply for permanent residency. It's just sad that it could not be passed because it was the last resort for a lot of people.

1. The Dream Act is dead and buried.

2. No. He's eligible for deportation and a 5-10 year ban for re-entry. Illegal immigrants are NEVER admitted into the US military. LPRs, however, are. He may find a college that will admit him, some do, but he is ineligible for student aid. He is also ineligible for any legal employment.

1. No Dream Act, Thank God.

2. your cousin knows he is here illegally, he is a sr in HS. Why doesn't he file papers to become legal instead of hanging his hopes on the sympathy of taxpayers. We work hard to earn our money. The Gov takes money our of our checks to fund programs, such as the Dream Act. How can you expect us to pay for the education of someone who has not contributed, and because he is illegal is not allowed to work without stealing or borrowing a Social security number.

It is a waste of money to fund his education.

We are in a recession with a hugh deficit that has to be repaid. On top of that you are asking us to finance illegal aliens. What about our own families? We have to pay for them, and now your cousin has his hand out too.

1. It's deader than Elvis.

2. No, there's nothing he can do. He cannot enlist in any branch of the US Armed Forces. He can attend any college or university that will have him but he cannot get any kind of loan, grant or student aid.

yes and we are suffering because the likes of your cousin, There will be no dream act, the American citizens do not want to reward these illegal aliens because of the criminal actions of their parents, disgusting thought! No deportation for your cousin. blame his parents for not respecting laws.
