How can Obama want immigration reform when that in the less-than-three-years Obama has been in office, the federal debt has increased by $4.212 trillion--more than the total national debt of about $4.1672 trillion accumulated by all 41 U.S. presidents from George Washington through George H.W. Bush combined.. This $4.212-trillion increase in the national debt means that during Obama’s term the federal government has already borrowed about an additional $35,835 for every American household--or $44,980 for every full-time private-sector worker. (According to the Census Bureau there were about 117,538,000 households in the country in 2010, and, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were about 93,641,000 full-time private-sector workers.)

When Obama was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2009, according to the Treasury Department, the total national debt stood at $10,626,877,048,913.08.

At the end of January 1993, the month that President George H. W. Bush left office, the total national debt was $4.1672 trillion, according to the Treasury. Thus, the total national debt accumulated by the first 41 presidents combined was about $44.8 billion less than the approximately $4.212 trillion in new debt added during Obama’s term.

As of Monday, Obama had been in office 986 days—or about 32 and a half months. During that time, the debt increased at an average pace of $4.27 billion per day. Were that rate to continue until Obama’s term ends on Jan. 20, 2013, the debt would then stand at about $16.86534 trillion—an increase of more than $6.2 trillion for Obama’s four years.

That would equal nearly $53,000 for each American household or more than $66,00 for each full-time private-sector worker.

That total national debt did not exceed $6.2 trillion until 2002, when George W. Bush was president.

One reason our debt has gone up is trying to deal with the mess Bush left us. If Obama had done nothing, trust me, our debt would have skyrocketed at some point and unemployment would be like 15+% plus or more. I will admit that some of Obama's policies came at bad moments. With our economy the way it is, i would have held off on obabmacare. The only problem is that if obamacare wasn't passed when it was it never would have gotten passed. Do you you realize that healthcare has been a huge issue for decades and nobody has ever been able to address it. I wish more people would have realized that when they went to vote in 2010.

That's not true, almost $1 trillion of the debt is due to programs from the prior administration, including tax cuts from 2001 and 2003 and the unfunded Medicare Part D.

How dare you point out facts to Liberals you know your question will be reported or they will just claim Bush did it too, whah, whah, whah.... Spending like War or calling the President a Nazi and so on is only wrong when there is a Republican President but is just fine and some how becomes needed for the Democrat President to do the exact same thing per lefty logic.

because of you I just watched his immigration reform speech and it was the best 30 minutes i watched all week.

He just wants this:

* Responsibility from the federal government to secure our borders: The Obama administration takes this responsibility very seriously and has dedicated unprecedented resources to securing our borders and reducing the flow of illegal traffic in both directions.

* Responsibility from unscrupulous businesses that break the law: Employers who exploit undocumented workers undermine American workers, and they have to be held accountable.

* Responsibility from people who are living in the United States illegally: Undocumented workers who are in good standing must admit that they broke the law, pay taxes and a penalty, learn English, and get right with the law before they can get in line to earn their citizenship.

Immigrants are great but the 11,000,000 illegal ones can pay taxes just like the rest of us.

Obama just wants everyone to pay their fair share so we can fix the economy.

The Jobs Act would fix our economy and get everyone who deserves work work.

I've decided that the economy would be fixed if the rich could just be a little charitable and help others, just for a couple years.

you're assuming that unlawful immigrants shop on with another regulation different than immigration regulation; that they pay taxes, pay their emergency room charges, pay for their teenagers college lunches, and are finding for coaching on a thank you to make a contribution from an underground society. it extremely is basically not the case. everyone i understand will pay $50 a week to have their grass mowed, commonly by utilising illegals. If in basic terms human beings have been accessible to cut back grass, then maximum folk might scale back their very own, quite of feeling entitled to chill on their recliners together as their credit card debt is going up and their internet properly worth is going down. i'm a Liberal, at heart, yet do not obfuscate the situation by utilising calling those that are here illegally as 'undocumented'. that means that some bureaucrat lost their workplace work. we are conversing approximately people who knew in the past they crossed our border that they have been breaking the regulation and that somebody might hire them, besides. That being mentioned, maximum pay no taxes, by any potential, because of the fact they artwork below the table, undermining wages for human beings and criminal immigrants. they seem to be a shadow society that throughout basic terms will become obvious whilst they make the main of materials, like healthcare, preparation, and social entitlements, none of which they pay for. If not for unlawful workers, the value of each new abode, each farm product, each panorama interest might upward thrust dramatically, because it is going to. we'd desire to deliver those workers into the mild, pay them the two with American workers, and make Liberals and Conservatives, alike, pay the actual value of their homes, their products, their nutrition, and each thing else that we devour. ninety % of money-strapped materials proprietors interior the get right of entry to-point marketplace ought to never have qualified for a house own loan in an prolonged time previous if it weren't for illegals development those homes. the end result's sub-typical development techniques and indebtedness. as quickly as we seem any incorrect way because of the fact somebody is making an attempt to make a extra acceptable life or his typical of residing is plenty below ours, we should additionally guage the end result on our very own standards and not in any respect compromise that.
