JOE LEGAL vs. JOSE ILLEGAL

You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal".
Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California .
Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per
hour with taxes deducted.
Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid
$15.00 cash "under the table".

Ready? Now pay attention...
Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year.
Now take 30% away for state and federal taxes; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.
Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.00 per year.
Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at
$600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00.
Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics
at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare.. Joe
Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has
$18,031.00.
Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and welfare. Jose
Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe Legal now has
$9,631.00.
Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays out
that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for life insurance. Joe Legal now
has $7,231.00.
Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.
Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what
he sends out of the country every month.

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.
Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for
his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government sponsored lunch.
Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid
for them and Jose did not pay.

Do you get it, now?

In the state of CA, Jose also gets a 25% good driver discount on his car insurance bc he has no license and therefore, no negative driving history.

Jose also has new tax number -

17. Individual Mandate Excise Tax (Jan 2014): Starting in 2014, anyone not buying “qualifying” health insurance must pay an income surtax that tops out at 2.5% of Annual Gross Income in 2014. Allows exemptions for religious objectors, undocumented immigrants, prisoners, those earning less than the poverty line, members of Indian tribes, and hardship cases.

Yes, I've heard of Jose, and I'd like to get rid of him asap. He is driving up my cost of everything!

What other country does this to its own people?

your premise is flawed. Illegal immigrants don't get federal rent subsidies, aren't eligible for food stamps or welfare. They're not documented, they have no documents allowing them to receive government benefits, hence the term. Nor do they generally make $15/hour, in my experience. More like $5. also why is joe legal paying more than twice as much for rent as jose illegal? Why aren't they living in the same standard of housing? Why is joe legal not having his kids on "government sponsored lunch"? Besides, the whole idea of documenting illegal aliens, and thus making them legal, is so they DO pay taxes (which of course then makes them eligible for government benefits, something they can't receive now), because they're here anyway.

You are correct on everything you said.

Yes illegals DO get social services because many have fake IDS.I use to work with illegals.I live by them.I know every dirty trick they use.

They are not suppose to be eligible for Medicaid either. But the Governments own stats show that 2.5 Billion dollars goes for fraudulent payments to illegals.5 billion goes to illegals that take a tax child credit and don't even have Children.

Just one comment - since Jose Illegal's kids get free lunch at school, it means that he is automatically eligible for a 20% discount on both electric and (natural) gas utility bills. That cost is paid for by other consumers. I recently read a statistic that said that 60% of CA children qualified for the free of reduced lunch program, and I think that figure is low. Even so - that means that 40% of the utility bill payers are subsidizing the 60% in some way.

Very entertaining.

Except, in reality, Joe illegal won't get anything from either the state nor the federal government.

Still entertaining!

That is a joke! First of all, "illegals" as u call them, do NOT get gov. benefits of any type because they do not have a s.s.#! Secondly the "illegals" are the ones working overtime and on the weekends! The "legals" get the weekends, holidays, birthdays, etc. Off! Also...the "legals" file taxes every year and get that money back! The"illegals" can't file taxes because they don't have w2's like u said..they get paid under the table! And more importantly... the"illegals" work to take care of their families while the "legals" work to support their drug habits! But most of these"legals" don't work! They sit on their butts collecting these gov. benefits that you mentioned, while doing and selling drugs!

"You're part of the problem!"

That's bullshit. The problem comes from people who spout rhetoric and talking points, like the one you posted, instead of engaging in meaningful discussion on the subject. In other words, the people refuse to put any thought into the problem are the ones aggravating it.
