What do you think of Secure the borders now ?

The vast majority of Americans desperately want our borders protected — and we want it done now. We are weary of the excuses and empty promises put forward by the Republican National Committee, the White House, and the Democratic leadership on this vital issue of national, economic, and cultural security.

We do not understand why, even after the devastating attacks on September 11, our government still allows hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to cross our borders every year. We do not want our public schools burdened with a massive influx of non-English speaking children of parents who broke our laws. We are livid that our health care costs skyrocket year after year as illegal immigrants take advantage of free health care at emergency rooms across the country. We are astounded to see the resurgence of diseases we thought we had long since conquered, such as tuberculosis, carried by illegal aliens who enter the country without any medical screening. We are horrified to learn how the illegal alien invasion feeds crime and gang activity in our country. We are fed up with a government that has ignored our wishes on an issue that will transform every major aspect of our lives — imperiling America's future.

Why is there such a split between elite and popular opinion on immigration and border enforcement? One big reason is that regular people pride themselves on being Americans, while the elites pride themselves on being cosmopolitan (from Greek words basically meaning citizen of the world). Additionally, the specific costs of open borders do not hit the elites as hard as they hit the working class. Case in point: illegal immigrant crime. To listen to the open border advocates and the dinosaur media, one would think that every illegal immigrant living here is like celebrity dog-trainer Cesar Millan (a.k.a. "The Dog Whisperer"). Illegally in this country — yes, but also entrepreneurial, ambitious, and law-abiding. The "local illegal does good" sob stories have gotten old fast. You'd think establishment politicians and the New York Times would be embarrassed to keep pouring it on, but they aren't.

The simple fact is that illegal immigration has ravaged entire communities with increases in violent and drug-related crime, and in these areas the system is on the verge of being totally overwhelmed. Yet you would never know this by watching the evening news or reading most of the newspapers. When is the last time CBS or the New York Times, reported on violent crime committed by illegal immigrants? Perhaps they are too busy doing stories on how difficult life is for the illegal immigrant — or the rare case when deportation separates a parent from a child born in the U.S. Fox News Channel's Geraldo Rivera loves these stories.

We're past wanting our borders secure. 2006 -- 37.5 million immigrants of which more than 20 million are illegal -- sick of it. We are sick and tired of being required to obey the laws while illegal immigrants are permitted to walk all over the law and be rewarded for it. We want our borders secured immediately and we want all those who ignore the laws punished to the fullest extent of the law. We believe that this is the highest priority in our National Security as we have no control over who is here in the country today. We have no idea where their loyalties lie and the only thing we really know about them is that the illegal immigrants are willing to break all our laws and demonstrate in our streets and mount a protests of our government and make demands that they are not truly entitled to make while our loyal U.S. Citizens and law-abiding immigrants are having our rights restricted on a daily basis. We've had enough.

Did you see that Saul Arellano is protesting in Washington D.C.? He is protesting for his illegal immigrant, lawbreaking, immoral, fugitive, mother and all those similarly situated. If that isn't sponsoring and promoting an invasion of the country, I don't know what is. In 1986 we had 3 million illegal immigrants who were given amnesty. In 2006 we now learn that we have over 30 million illegal immigrants demanding amnesty and the right to own our country.

I will say it again! The terrorist HAD visas and they knew it! So who is at fault for that and why was Saddam Hussein's family the first to be put out on a plane back? Keep waiting because it has not happened! People have been waiting since the 70's there is just too much involved now! So good luck! You'll be waiting a long time. Unless we get NAU!

The borders should have been secured decades ago! The Washington weasels don't care what Americans want so they just make excuses and say it's too hard.

It would be easy - just enforce our laws, jail/heavily fine employers to dry up the job market and build the wall. This way, deportation isn't needed. If there are no jobs, they will leave on their own.

One more important thing - NEVER ELECT A PRO-AMNESTY CANDIDATE! That means you don't vote for any of the dems, McCain or Rudy.

More than ever....secure our borders. Nothing is ever real or important till it hits the elites. I wonder how many illegals have jumped the fence at the Kennedy compound or the Bush ranch or the White House and just set up tents and started demanding? I seriously ask those who think we need them to do it at the homes of those who support it. Lets just see what happens when Bush's daughters get some filthy spiel said to them in Spanish in the presence of their dad and it's no big deal. Lets see one of theirs personally effected and say it's not a problem. I still dare Obama and his family without protection and fan fare to walk the streets of LA or some of these other neighborhoods and say there isn't a problem.

I'm waiting on the orange extension cord going from the White House to a neighboring house and say that's OK. I'm waiting for Mrs. Bush's identity to be stolen and their credit ruined.....or one of the twins applying for a job and finding out there's 150 other ones across the country using her SS#. Or the day when Cheney or Ms. Clinton has to wait HOURS in a crowded hospital room for help. I really want to know how many people in public office are fluent in Spanish and every other language of every constituant they serve or every country they deal with. Their employment isn't based on how many languages they know.....why should mine?

I agree, but something should have been done long ago.Put something up to electrocute them if they try to pass through or over, that would be a chance they'd take. Americans who help them over here should be sent to Mexico to live for the rest of

their so called lives or anybody who helps them for that matter. But it's NOT just Mexicans it's Polish,Indian,Asians and who ever else that does not belong here.

Slap a sambrero on an Arab terrorist and see if you can tell the difference between him and an Hispanic. Our borders should have been secured all along...

Secure borders are not going to happen while Bush is still in office.

I think the vast majority of Americans don't care.

That's why they voted the Democrats in BOTH the House an Senate.

you need to do more than secure the borders.... you need to do something about people flying in and overstaying their visas too.

Neither party wants to let this happen. "We the People" are going to have to make them.
