Why would Australians come to America?

Today I met this women who's from Australia who now lives in America she's been here for 32 yrs now a lot of yrs and she says that she doesn't like America anymore for what is going on here she wants to go back to her country she moved to the USA because she met her American husband there and later moved her in 1982 But after all those yrs wants to go back but anyways what can be other reasons

I'm an Australian. Many years ago, I was working for an American company and moved to the US for experience in the much larger American operation and while there, met and married my American husband which resulted in our staying and raising our family there.



The US is a great country but it has so many seemingly intractable problems (illegal immigration, gun and gang violence, the massive influence of the religious far right, horrendous debt levels, high exposure to domestic and international terrorism etc) that we made the decision to move to Australia - we're both dual citizens and can live in either country. We now live in Australia by choice and are both very happy here in this far safer, more laid back country with a great economy. And the weather's better than two thirds of the USA - no snow and blizzards here! Our children and their families will also all be making the move over the next couple of years - Australia is a far better place to bring up children.

Why did a woman from Australia back in 1981 move to the United States?



To be with her husband; to experience something new; to live a better life; to advance her career?



There are many reasons. If you ask Keith Urban, Olivia Newton John, Heath Ledger, Nichole Kidman, or Crocodile Dundy about this, I'm sure they can come up with more reasons.
