Very difficult to get Chinese citizenship. China does not recognise dual citizenship and you'll have to surrender your original citizenship.

Article 3 of the Chinese Nationality Law states "The People's Republic of China does not recognize dual nationality for Any Chinese national"

Article 8 states clearly you have to renounce your original citizenship if you want to be a Chinese national.

I'm pretty sure you can have a dual citizenship. I'm Chinese(HK)-Australian.

There are certain circumstance where dual citizenship is allowed on a temporary basis for children of Chinese nationals born outside of China.

There are also special rules for citizens of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan which allow dual citizenship.

It gets a bit complex but if you are not already a Chinese citizen (in theory at least) you can not become one without giving up your present nationality.

Sorry!

Visit the embassy, and ask for assistance.
