Question:
Will we ever be able to stop illegal immigration?
Nothing

I've seen the fencethat has been built but it doesn't cover the entire border. Plus, it cost a ton of money, and I've seen survelliance videos of people climbing over and under the fence and easily getting into the U.S.A, so to me, the fence is a total waste of money. Are we ever going to be able to stop illegal immigration?

Do we have the ability? Yes

Do we have the cajones? Remains to be seen

If we wanted to, we could be the environment difficult enough so that they would self deport and not come. How?

1. Aggressively and through all means necessary defend our borders.

2. Enforce all of our immigration laws and regulations to the fullest extent.

3. Punish/fine/jail all unscrupulous US employers who give illegals jobs.

4. Got off all infrastructure support--healthcare, education, welfare, etc.

5. Repeal the 14th amendment of the constitution that gives citizenship to the US born babies of illegal alien criminals.

If we did that....they'd self deport in a skinny Tijuana minute. And the very few who didn't we should........Find, Arrest and DEPORT, Deport deport.

If the people want it bad enough, yes. Rome wasn't able to and that was their downfall.

I agree a fence is a waste of money; it is a placebo for the people. A mine field can be laid from the air and is cheap plus a few signs and barbed wire (cheap) fence to mark it and keep cattle out - that would work. But remember, the greatest number of illegal aliens come via airplane and simply overstay their visas and this wouldn't help that one bit.
lotsa help

I agree with those who are saying we may not be able to stop it but we can slow it and we should try. We will never eliminate all crime, so should we dump the police force?

Not all students will learn, so lets stop teaching all?

Illegal immigration is not the same as legal immigration and no matter how the pro illegals spin it we all know it.

1. Prosecute employers who hire illegals.

2. Prosecute illegals and deport them immediately

3. Hire more border security agents

4. Build a fence that runs across the entire border. Build it at least 20 feet deep and run barb wire across the top.

5. Quit giving them free handouts

No, we could never completely stop illegal immigration any more than we can stop all home burglaries. But, that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to slow it down. What would happen here if we just stopped chasing down burglars simply because we can't catch them all? Or stopped investigating, finding and arresting law breakers of any kind just because we can't track them all down? We could close the borders, deport all illegal aliens that we find and heavily fine anyone who hires them or sells/rents houses/apts. to them. That would make it less attractive to the ones who would dare try to enter illegally.

Yes we can! It is not complex they are illegal and should leave! The US citizens that fight for the rights of these FELONS should be sent back along with them. Quit trying to give this country to the illegals!

Probably not completely ever unfortunately. But we have to at least do our best to slow it down. Can you imagine what the U.S. would look like if we had no enforcement what so ever.

Illegal immigratin is bad for the economy, that's why they call it illegal.

I think we should hook up some electricity to the fence and jolt everyone of them that even starts to get near it. And as for shay, if you don't like it go to messyco with 'em. I am sure the rest of the American taxpayers are sick of paying out 338.3 billion dollars a year . I know I am.

And you won't be able to stop the spread of AIDS in Africa, child slavery, illegal drug trafficking, or the illicit sex trade.

Focus on what you actually CAN change instead of bitching about something that's way too complex a problem that will never get solved.

Yes. Deport all illegals, and shoot the ones trying to get in.

Stop? No.

But we can curtail it by making it hard on illegals here.

Would you want to live in another Country? Think about it. Leave them alone. I think they should be able to move here and "prove" themselves. Like get jobs and not suck on welfare. But I don't think it should be "stopped". If that's the case than everyone who isn't Indian should move since the Indians owned America First.

Most likely not. We have jobs, take agriculture for example, in the U.S. you can make $7.00 an hour whereas in Mexico, you would be hard pressed to make a dollar for the same job. The good news is that illegal immigration is good for the economy.
