wow, lots of uneducated answers so far, Yes the police are limited, they are not allowed to ask anything pertaining to status, so many are just let go, returning them on their crime sprees!! If they are arrested, then they cry racism and profiling. what a bunch of garbage. Look at the statistics of crimes in these areas, that explains it all. they are just let go their merry way and ruin some more citizens lives!!



No, good cops do their job and arrest criminals, illegals are lawbreaking criminals. racist take up for these lawbreakers.

What happens is there becomes a substantial illegal immigrant population in a town, and after forging identification they have political power. Now, the mayors have to make laws that they want. Naturally, the first thing the want is to change the laws so they can't be caught being an illegal alien. So, they put sanctuary city laws in place. Driving without out a license or prove of insurance can get you arrested in Fla, then they can asked your immigration status. Then they will hand you over to ICE if you can not prove you are a citizen or resident alien. I just got my driver license renewed an it said clearly if you did not have a current license and Social Security card you have to show a green card or a current passport.

idk, the best thing for you to do is call and talk to a police officer. ask him or her to explain it to you. i think if that works for illegals it should work for us tax paying citizens. we need to start turning the table around on them. we need to take a stand some how.

In the state of Ohio it is required to have automobile insurance on your vehicle. They need your ID to check with the BMV or license tag numbers to find this information out. Therefore why would they even need to ask your status. Once they run your ID or your tag number they should pretty much know what is legal and what is not. How about we just insist that if they can't do things the legal way, that they "don't ask" the police not to check their status. Being legal would solve the whole problem.

First off I never heard about this "Don't ask, don't tell" policy regarding illegal immigrants. Secondly, if you are illegal, then you get deported if a cop finds you.

The truth is it does NOT work!



Although after reading the answers offered by my esteemed collegues, it is apparent that no one has heard of these cities where the mayors have told all other officials to look the other way. In fact, I heard that Vermont has that policy pretty much state-wide (Yes, Bin-Biden's state)



But do you see how many times you were called a racist? that is why we have no immigration reform, even though both major parties are for it!



Very very soon, these cities become overrun with illegals.As in more illegals than all others combined (legals and naturals) For it to work, they have to be in states who will issue a Driver license without a Social Security card. Thank God Florida is NOT one of them.



But if all the cops can do is write a ticket based on what he is told, Then they take the ticket to the License office and use it for ID to get a license, then show up in court with the license and the ticket gets dismissed. Once they have a license, ACORN will get them a voter registration.



Of course, the children have already been enrolled in school, and the Family Doctor is whoever happens to be on duty at the county hospital Emergency room.
