Not one state will EVER benefit from illegal immigration, and truthfully neither do the illegal aliens. The big corporations who either own the mass farms they work in, and also big business (such as Tyson Chicken) where the illegals are employed under unacceptable working conditions, are the ONLY ones who benefit. Illegal immigration hurts working class Americans and undermines the wages of those same Americans while slowly bankrupting our hospitals and public schools. Illegal aliens are only temporarily reaping financial benefits, that is if you compare what the wages are here compared to wages in their home countries. Plus, many accept deplorable living conditions (benefitting slumlords), and deplorable working conditions. Employers and slumlords take advatage of the illegal aliens lawless sutation for their benefit.

California or any other state does not benefit from illegal immigrants, they do not pay taxes and use schools for theyr children.

The people that benefit from illegal aliens are the agents that provide them jobs for a cut of theyr pay,the employers that pays them less than regular workers and a bunch of loan shark and drug dealers that prey on them because they cant'go to the law for help.

There are no benefits of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS for any State in the Union . The American Working Taxpayer should be getting the benefit`s of their hard work and sacrifice , see it go to the support of ILLEGALS` and the newly created Welfare State just for them !!

I believe that no one state benefits more than any other....

the winners in the end are the large corporations that hire them at low wages without benefits.

This in turn guarantees that the politicians will get campaign contributions by those corporations....so the vicious cycle of free services to illegals and depressed wages for the American worker are realised. Meanwhile the taxes get payed.

The corporations also have their cake and eat it too....they ship non-essential jobs to China...creating a double whammy on the American workforce.

If you ask me, a good number of average Americans are

angry at the wrong people for these policies. It isn't illegal immigration that makes the policies....it is our elected officials who make or change policies....

Once they decide they are going to represent the interests of those who put them in office instead of caving into corporate interests, we will see a govt for the people and by the people.

Each trespasser costs the taxpayers an average of $10,000 per year in the U.S. but closer to $15,000 in California. This is more than business saves by hiring them. So, businessmen in California benefit at the expense of the taxpayers. Since the business of America is business, the powers that be would have you believe there is great benefit to hiring trespassers vs. citizens and permanent residents.

There are more illegal aliens in California than any other place. They are using fake I.D.'s and they are collecting welfare while they work under the table. They commit many crimes, and they know this fact: if they get caught, all the authorities will do to them is deport them. What have they got to lose?

If we put these criminals in a detention camp in lower Arizona and made them work on the farms for a year, I think they would be very willing to stay at home and make Mexico a nice place to live.

This is my personal opinion.

I feel it is misleading to say it is only large corporations that benefit. Most drywall companies are not large. Most landscaping companies are not large. Housekeepers, cooks, etc, are not working for large corporations. Even a lot of the farm workers don't work for big corporations.

Of course, it is easier to blame big corporations for the whole mess then to look at the left, who seem to want to take in and hide most of Mexico under their beds and in their churches.

because of the 1 billion spent on benefits for them in LA county alone each year, at $10,000 per child per year in schools not counting other services we pay for? Because of the ruined schools for our own kids?

Most impacted. Not most benefitted.

Emergency measure planned for California budget

http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSN2127986620071221

By Jim Christie

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said on Friday he would declare a "fiscal emergency" as he had previously signaled to force lawmakers to tackle an estimated $3.3 billion state budget shortfall for the current fiscal year.

Schwarzenegger said in a statement that the official announcement to impose a special legislative session will take place with the release next month of his budget plan for California's next fiscal year.

Declaration of a fiscal emergency would allow the Republican governor to seek authority from California's Democrat-led legislature for spending cuts in the middle of the state's current fiscal year to balance the budget and to bolster the next fiscal year.

California's budget watchdog agency recently forecast a $10 billion shortfall forming over the next 18 months as the state's housing downturn slows revenue growth.

"I have briefed each of the legislative leaders on our projected budget shortfall, and I believe that when the legislature reconvenes in January immediate action is necessary," Schwarzenegger said in his statement.

"I will continue my discussions with the leaders in the coming weeks, so that we can narrow as many differences as possible and move quickly in the special session to bring this year's budget back into balance," he added.

California's shortfall in the current fiscal year reflects lower revenues caused by the housing slump and mortgage turmoil, property tax collections that missed expectations, increased firefighting costs related to recent wildfires in Southern California, and legal challenges delaying Indian gambling compacts intended to provide the state with a share of casino revenues.

Schwarzenegger signaled that tax increases would be off the table in talks with lawmakers as a way to close the state's budget shortfall. He has opposed tax hikes in the past, in sharp contrast with Democrats in the legislature who have, meanwhile, fought his plans to restrain or cut spending.

Analysts had expected the battle lines to be redrawn even without concern over a budget shortfall in the state capital of Sacramento. But the annual budget brawl may take on added urgency with California's housing downturn causing trouble for the state's broader economy and with Schwarzenegger mulling across-the-board spending cuts, according to reports.

"Just like we don't know where the bottom is for the housing market, we don't know where the bottom is for the revenue slowdown," said economist Steve Levy of the Center for the Continuing Study of the California Economy in Palo Alto.

After Schwarzenegger last week raised the prospect of declaring a fiscal emergency, Wall Street credit rating analysts said it could only help to focus officials on the state's finances.

Analysts have long urged state officials to either raise taxes or cut spending, or both, to keep the books balanced. California's persistent budget shortfalls are holding back its credit rating. Higher ratings would lower borrowing costs for the state, a major U.S. issuer of public debt.

All states benefit from illegal immigration. Arizona might soon find out if it's economy goes down the drain.
