SALT LAKE CITY - As the probe into the inappropriate use of private information continues, two employees of the Utah Department of Workforce Services were placed on administrative leave on Friday for their alleged actions in compiling the list of 1300 "illegal immigrants," and investigators believe as many as ten other state employees from the division could be involved.

Governor Gary Herbert and Director of The Department of Workforce Services Kristin Cox updated the media on the ongoing investigation, calling such employees "rogue" and their actions "deplorable." Herbert considers their actions "counterproductive to the issue that ought to be the focus, which is the illegal immigrant issue."

Ms. Cox told the news conference they are "confident that we have identified the core group" and believes they have strong political views and have been frustrated by the immigration situation. However, she said, "If they want to go rogue, they need to quit the department."

It appears the compilation of the list took several months. Governor Herbert said "these people involved have been very patient, they've been very deliberate." The list contains names, addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers and medical information. The list was sent to local law enforcement and media outlets by a group calling itself Concerned Citizens of the United States. It included a cover letter calling those listed "illegal immigrants" who need to be deported immediately.

Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff is looking at state and local charges against the participants. The Department of Workforce Services in not held to federal information security standards which were violated by the breach. They do comply with the system as a standard. Employees who have access to private information are carefully trained in the protocol.

Interesting times here, especially with regard to the future of immigration laws and how it has been affecting businesses. I wonder if Utah will follow in the same steps as AZ.

I think it is more wrong for Illegal Aliens to come here and steal people's social security numbers to work jobs in construction, landscaping, fast-food, manufacturing, basically every job that REAL Americans had before Illegals came in lowering the wage cap and forcing employers to pay under-the-table. I think it is wrong that they "rape" the health care system by going to the Emergency Room over a nosebleed, forcing millions of Americans health insurance premiums to go up to the point no one can afford them anymore. I think it is wrong for Illegal Aliens to use the money they earn here and transfer it back to Mexico which causes a reverse effect in our economy creating Millions more that become unemployed. I think it is wrong that the government sits back and allows this to happen while at the same time asking "hey, why are people unemployed without health care?" I don't blame employers that much because they need to make a profit, who would you rather pay? An American who wants $20 an hour + benefits. Or an illegal alien who will work longer for $9 an hour under the table. The question is " why do employers even have the OPTION to hire an illegal alien?". That's where the lack of immigration enforcement comes to light!

After they arrest obama and company for forcing the compilation of such a list by refusing to do the job they swore to do! And then we go after the illegal aliens on the list, then any other illegal aliens in the country, and only then should we start to discuss the "core group"!

Why aren't they doing something about illegal aliens instead of chasing after the people who are trying to keep our country from becoming a third world **** hole like where most illegal aliens are forced out of because the **** hole doesn't want them?

They should not be arrested. The names on list should be investigated and the persons named are here illegally then they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Those who are here legally should be provided with documentation so that they will not have this problem again. American citizens and legal residents should be glad to cooperate with said investigation. It will help to stop Identity Fraud!

In my estimation there are some good points and some ignorant ones. Good: 1.3, no bail out for the banks. 1.6, Assist local governments. This is actually Constitutional. 1.5, WIC for expectant and new mothers is good as long as it is by the guidelines. 2.2, Making existing buildings energy efficent 3.2, Outlaw hate crimes, and this even means against all hate crimes not just against certain races. 4.2, Care for returning soldiers, this should be a given. These could be good for some: 1.1, mortgages but only for those willing to work, not for free loaders. 2.1, Public works could be done by those who are serving time for crimes, thus stopping the free loading they do. Go to jail, you work for your keep. 2.3, We could use better schools and teachers who teach instead of baby sitters. 2.4, Alternative energy is a good thing as long as it does not become another cash cow for the rich only. 2.9, Goes along with 2.3, Better teaching from true sources instead of the poppycock someone makes up because it sounds better. Public housing, only for the working poor, ill and elderly, not for drug addicts and welfare mothers who have a kid every year so they don't lose their benefits. The only problem is even if this is set up in this manner there are those that will be selling drugs from the back door while their wives are selling themselves in the bedroom and the kids are out stealing and making the drugs to sell. Once they get caught they should be shot to save the county, city and country the cost of a trial. Hang 'em high. Hanging deters crime. Them what get hung commit no more crimes!

They shouldn't be arrested but praised. After all, they were reporting criminals to law enforcement. I think it was their duty to do so.

Too bad they just don't turn the situation around and sue the DWS for withholding information on the illegal activities from law enforcement. It was, in fact, the American people that they're trying to protect.

Hopefully every city in this country will post lists of illegal alien criminal fence jumpers in the newspaper and on the internet. Then we can go to their houses, kick the door in, and round up these creepy illegal alien dirtbags and stick em in jail where they belong!

The sooner, the better. Whoever compiled and circulated that list engaged in some scary and illegal vigilantism. If civil servants with access to confidential personal information were involved, then they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Why? All they did was provide a list of persons breaking the law. Isn't that a good thing?

They are hero's. At least they had the balls to do what obama and friends will not.
